This report covers trends and enrollment demographics in American Medigap plans. Among the key finding of this year’s report:
- Medigap enrollees were 3x less likely to experience difficulty paying medical bills when compared to other Medicare patients.
- 53% of Medicare enrollees purchased Medigap policies if they did not receive additional coverage from employer-provided insurance, Medicaid or other sources.
- The number of Medicare beneficiaries who purchased a Medigap policy increased from 35% to 39% from the period 2017-2020.
